24-hour gaming challenge set to raise £1000 for rare cancer charity

Prior Scientific’s Supply Chain Manager, Peter Hall, is undertaking a 24-hour gaming challenge to raise £1000 for two charities: the AMMF and UK Sepsis Trust. Remarkably, this will bring the total that Peter has helped raise for the two charities to almost £10,000.

Peter began to raise money for the two charities in memory of his mother, Carol, who was diagnosed with the rare bile duct cancer, Cholangiocarcinoma, and passed away from complications with sepsis after fighting the cancer for several months.

With his family, Peter established MICA Travels with the goal of raising funds for the AMMF, the only UK charity dedicated to Cholangiocarcinoma, and the UK Sepsis Trust. Over the past 28 months, the group has raised money for these causes through various challenges, including walking the Lake District fells and the Derbyshire peaks and last year’s 24-hour gaming challenge which raised £1250.

This year, Peter is once again launching into another 24-hour gaming marathon, starting at 10 am on 8th April. The livestreamed event will involve playing Destiny 2 newest release Lightfall, and playing modes such as PVP, Strikes, Gambit, and Raid Carries.

The AMMF is the only UK charity dedicated to researching Cholangiocarcinoma and is self-funded from donations, making the Hall family’s fundraising efforts even more critical.

Peter said, ‘My family and I are determined to raise as much money as possible for these two charities, and we hope that our efforts will help others who may be going through what we have gone through. We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received so far and look forward to another successful challenge this year.’
