The OptiScanTM III is the latest release of the popular OptiScanTM system from Prior Scientific, and is an affordable yet accurate stage and focus controller, ideal for routine microscopy procedures requiring high precision.
The next generation of the OptiScanTM is able to control both a Prior motorised stage and the focus of the microscope, via a motorised focus drive, stand or axis, offering the user full control in the X, Y and Z axes. Compatible motorised stages, for both inverted and upright microscopes and with Prior’s wide range of sample holders, offer a step size of 0.02 µm, and repeatability of 5 µm, providing excellent accuracy and precision for a wide variety of potential applications, from cell imaging to metallurgy. A S-shaped acceleration curve gives smooth and almost vibration free movement of the stage.
Both the focus and stage can be controlled by joystick, or via computer using a RS232 or USB connection, and the OptiScanTM III system is fully compatible with the vast majority of common imaging software. A software development tool-kit is also provided with the system.
