Local Students Gain Real-World Experience at Prior Scientific

We were delighted to welcome some local students for work experience through the Employability Partnership, a regional initiative dedicated to raising aspirations and preparing young people for the world of work. 

During the week they spent with us, they gained experience of all aspects of a manufacturing company: 

• Design – CAD and 3D printing 

• Experimental testing 

• Manufacturing and assembly 

• Product testing and quality 

In this way, they experienced how creativity, precision, and collaboration come together in the real-world production of precision instrumentation.  

With advanced manufacturing contributing £82 billion to the UK economy and poised for further growth under the Government’s 10-year Industrial Strategy, it’s vital to inspire and equip the next generation. Through hands-on experience in design, testing, and production, we’re proud to help young people discover the opportunities in this dynamic sector—and play our part in building a skilled workforce for the future.
