Prior Scientific's motorized vertical translation stages provide accurate, high-resolution Z‑axis positioning. 

The FB series of stepper-motor Z stages offers sub-micron resolution and repeatability, with optional encoders for exceptional long-range repeatability. Designed for transmitted light microscopy applications, they ensure smooth, automated focus, vertical translation, or height adjustment in both life science and industrial applications. 

With a choice of vertical travel ranges up to either 38 mm or 50 mm, and a maximum load capacity of 14 kg, they easily translate and support heavy optical assemblies, complex experimental equipment, cameras, or instrumentation without compromising speed or accuracy. 

They are compatible with Prior controllers (ProScan or OptiScan) or suitable third-party controllers. They can be configured as standalone units, in pairs, or in combination with our other microscope automation and imaging components, such as our motorized XY stages.

Typical applications include industrial and semiconductor inspection, laser-based microscopy, and life science imaging. Customized configurations of our motorized vertical stages are also available for OEM manufacturing and developing customized optical table microscopy systems.
