Motorized XY Microscope Stages

Precise, accurate and reliable movement is essential for any automated imaging system.

Prior’s motorized XY stages, and translation stages, ensure high-precision automated positioning for a range of life science and industrial applications. We offer a choice of motor and encoder configurations to suit different application requirements and budgets. Travel ranges are available from 50 to 300 mm with maximum loads from 6 kg up to 100 kg. Our ultra-quiet linear motors offer speeds up to 300 mm/s with nanometer resolution. Some of our stages also have integrated Z-axis movement, either to assist with high-speed, high-resolution imaging or to make space for large or irregular samples. They can be used in combination with motorized focus drives and other automation components via Prior’s ProScan and OptiScan controllers.

Widely compatible

Our motorized XY stages are compatible with all major brands of upright and inverted microscopes on the market as well as all optical microscopy techniques, including bright field, fluorescence (wide field and confocal), and electrophysiology. This allows users to easily upgrade existing equipment and reduce capital expenditure.

They are suitable for a wide range of microscopy and materials science applications, including live cell imaging, physiology, neuroscience and surface testing, profiling, and hardness testing.

We have a wide range of options for all major brands of microscope, including Leica, Zeiss, Evident/Olympus and Nikon.
