Our filter wheels and high-speed shutter systems suit upright, inverted and stereo microscopes on either the excitation, transmitted light, or emission ports.

They are designed to provide rapid and precise control over illumination for accurate imaging in a wide range of applications including fluorescence and bright field microscopy. Our filter wheels are compatible with most microscopes available on the market. 

High-speed filter wheels and shutters form an essential part of automated microscopy systems, ensuring fast, efficient and high-quality imaging.

Enabling the switching of filters during image acquisition is key for fluorescence microscopy, where different filters are needed to detect specific fluorescent markers. Prior’s range of high-speed filter wheels allows users to switch between filter sets much more rapidly than a pure turret-based fluorescence system. This not only minimizes photobleaching, but also enables sufficient experimental throughput for high-volume multiplexing applications.

Many applications require precise control over the amount of light delivered to the sample. Our high-speed shutters allow users to quickly and accurately control the exposure time, improving image quality as well as minimizing light damage to the sample. High-speed shutters can be used to capture high-speed events, such as cellular processes or dynamic events, with temporal resolutions down to microseconds.
