Contract Manufacturing & Production

Discover Prior’s custom design and production manufacturing solutions for complex mechanical parts and assemblies.  We are dedicated to meeting the unique requirements of your project.  Prior Scientific helps companies of all sizes accelerate time-to-revenue, lower production costs, and establish a flexible, resilient, and scalable supply chain for custom manufacturing.

We offer:

You have a fully designed product but don’t have the in-house capacity or the specialist tooling to produce it. Contract manufacturing with Prior Scientific is risk-free and cost-effective because you don’t need capital investment to get started and also benefit from our efficiencies of scale.

We deliver direct to your worldwide customers and have offices in Europe, North America, Japan, and China for local support.

ISO-Certified Manufacturing Sites and Assured, Reliable Supply

Our manufacturing facilities in Cambridge (UK) and Boston (USA) are ISO 9001 certified and total more than 50,000 ft2 (approx. 4600 m2) including dedicated assembly facilities. Our UK manufacturing locations in Cambridge and Paignton are also certified to ISO 14001:2015 (Environment) and ISO 45001:2018 (Health and Safety) which demonstrate our commitment to sustainable supply chains as well as the well-being and safety of our employees.

We adhere to stringent testing and certification standards, which are routinely updated. Our comprehensive quality management system evaluates each project firsthand. Prior Scientific’s products are both ROHS and CE compliant and we are ISO 9001 certified.

Complete Product Lifecycle Management

We manage the entire product life cycle for you with our purchasing team available to source components, replace obsolete parts and offer advice on reducing manufacturing costs. Above all, our contract manufacturing clients benefit from our economies of scale.

Gaining the appropriate certification and regulatory approvals is essential to sell into many markets and we can assist with this also.

Your end-to-end development partner

No matter how novel the idea, before launching a commercially viable product, start-up companies have to overcome many barriers to entry. Lack of in-house specialist knowledge for design or build, high costs for tooling to produce prototypes, or issues of software compatibility can de-rail a solid product idea before it gets off the ground.

With Prior as your development partner, these barriers disappear.

We work with you from the start to design, test, manufacture, and brand your system to your specifications. And - unlike other design or product development houses – Prior Scientific becomes your long-term, end-to-end manufacturing partner by seamlessly transitioning to production.

Because this happens under one roof, it accelerates both product development and manufacturing, enabling you to reach your market sooner.

Although we offer an extensive range of robust motorized components, there are many highly specialized applications where the standard products are not suitable.

Our component customization process allows our clients to take established, proven products and modify them to suit their OEM designs. This approach not only reduces the risk of developing a completely new solution but also the number of development cycles needed to reach a market-ready product.
